Ahh Spain. Land of siesta, wine, tapas. It was legendary.
Spent 2 1/2 weeks in eastern Spain - with a 2 day side trip into Bordeaux, France - in July 2013. Scott traveled with me and Jason, and then we met up with Sara and Travis in Pamplona for the running of the bulls.
Jason and Travis actually ran with the bulls and survived without a scratch. Sara, Scott and I watched the mayhem from a rented balcony above. It was over so quick, but really exciting.
Besides winding down in Majorca at the end of the trip (which was of course, amazing), the other highlight was touring the Eguren Familia winery. Alberto led us on a three hour tour of the family's operations and we ended the day tasting in the family's dining room. It was over the top! Thanks Sara!

New Year's, Germany 2013
Couldn't pass up an invite from Jon and Jan to spend New Year's in Germany. Including a few days in Amsterdam, it was fantastic!!!
We stayed at the hotel for the Ayinger Brewery -- amazingly nice. And a self serve beer tap! Plus an old-school bowling alley which was a blast. We had a great time - a very gastro oriented tour - with Jon and Jan.
In Amsterdam I dragged Jason to the flower market and we toured around town, even going to the Heineken brewery. I see a trend, visiting macro breweries on our travels.
